Review - Kiss Of Life
Brian L. Porter just keeps getting better. In this sequel to Dracula Doesn't Live Here Anymore, the reader goes back into the rich landscape penned in the first novella. From the beginning you have a feeling of impending danger and suspense. He handled the interaction between the reunited characters with great skill and left me guessing until the end.Expect his usual plot twists that blindside you even if you’re looking for them.A spectacular read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get Ready to Enter the Twilight Zone, June 7, 2009
By Martha A. Cheves (Charlotte, NC) - See all my reviews (Link)
Short story "Red Sky in the Morning"... 'Prior to surfacing completely, the submarine's commander, Captain Simon Merrick had ordered the periscope raised, and he knew as soon as he put his eye to the scope that something wasn't right. Although the submarine's chronometer showed the time as eleven o'clock in the morning it appeared quite dark on the surface. There appeared to be an incredible red tinge to the outside world. While he tried to make some sense of what he saw his communications officer, Mike Regan had been trying without success, to make contact with the base at Rosyth.'
What Merrick and his crew didn't know as their submarine surfaced from the deep waters was that they were about to "Enter the Twilight Zone."
Enter the Twilight Zone yourself as you read "The Voice of Anton Bouchard" which will have you wondering why a serial killer suddenly stopped killing. Read "Breathing to Death" to see how and why women with medical problems are being killed. "The Sound of Silence" will have you traveling with a young lady, who after a wreck, is carried off to what could be nothing less than the castle of Dracula. These stories and many more that make up this book will carry you into the "Zone".

I'm delighted that Mythica have invited me to compile and edit a short story anthology to be published later this year. 'Another Time, Another Place' will comprise approximately 10 - 12 tales which must all be thrillers and should be based in the future, whether it be one year from now or a thousand years ahead of our time. The maximum word count for the anthology is 4,500 words and the closing date for sumissions is the 30th May 2009.Anyone who wishes to submit to this exciting new project should send the story and a short (100 word or less bio), in Word.doc format as an attachment (no zip files please), to

It is a dramatic and romantic story following the emotional and spiritual struggles of two gay priests, who, after forming a deeply committed relationship, faithfully follow their priestly calling while keeping their personal lives secret. It is set within country parishes coping with the tensions of challenging situations and controversial changes. Dedicated and sensitive leadership is called for. But strange and unusual events, centred around his ‘angel’ secretary and involving powerful and memorable characters, combine to threaten the relationship and all that has been achieved.
Gladys Hobson weaves all the elements together masterfully, leaving the reader with a sense of wonder and awe.
Juan Pablo Jalisco is a man who one might describe as a poet. Nothing more, nothing less. And so intertwined are these two facets of his soul that the man and the poet are inseperable. He is a man in love: love of his family and his friends, love of the world around him, and of course a love of all things Mexican! Poetry is his life and soul, and it enables and empowers him to explore and examine new thoughts and ideas, that he shares with all, exploring them with such divine artistry as to stop time with his words as the reader is pulled in to the wonder of the moment.
Mythica publishing is delighted to announce that Juan Pablo Jalisco's charming collection of poetry from the magical land of the Aztecs is now available to buy.
